    About him:

    Professor Sami Bani works for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a Chief Engineer at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, since 2012. His work includes the design of systems for air conditioning, control, fire suppression, and compressed gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and helium, as well as cryogenic refrigerants, cleanrooms, and chemical and biological laboratories.

    Professor Sami has provided and continues to provide direct engineering support for the site configuration design of major projects such as:

    • James Webb Space Telescope

    • HERA Mars Habitat Model

    • CHAPEA Mars Habitat Model

    • Gateway Project

    • Artemis Project

    • VIPER Project

    • Long-term cooling system project (lasting 600–1000 years) to preserve original Apollo archive films

    • Mission Control Center upgrade for spaceflights

    • Restoration of the historic Apollo Mission Control Center

    • Lunar Rock Analysis Laboratories

    • Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory project, home to the largest indoor pool in the world
