Expected Academic Cooperation

In a move that reflects the trend towards enhancing international academic cooperation, Prof. Dr. Mohsin Noori Hamzah, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology, received Professor Dr. Firas Al-Naimi, Director of the Smart Energy Research Center at the National Energy University of Malaysia (UNITEN). This meeting was held to discuss and develop mechanisms for joint cooperation between the two prestigious institutions.

During the meeting, which was held in the office of the Head of the Department, the previously signed agreement between the two universities was reviewed and ways to activate it on the ground were discussed. The discussion covered five main axes for future cooperation:

First: Joint research

Second: Joint teaching

Third: Curriculum development

Fourth: Establishing research groups

Fifth: Postgraduate studies

This meeting comes within the framework of the University of Technology’s continuous efforts to enhance its academic position at the international level, and open channels of cooperation with global prestigious scientific institutions. It also reflects the keenness of the National Energy University of Malaysia (UNITEN) to expand its network of academic relations in the region. This cooperation is expected to yield positive results that will benefit students and researchers in both institutions, and contribute to the development of scientific research and the improvement of the quality of higher education in both countries. At the end of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of continuous follow-up on the implementation of the agreed upon cooperation terms, and working to overcome any obstacles that may hinder the implementation of these joint initiatives.
