Scientific Delegation from the University of Technology Visits the Space Research and Technology Center to Enhance Academic and Research Collaboration
Under the patronage of the esteemed Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Mohsin Noori Hamzah, and the supervision of the Head of the Aircraft Engineering Branch, Dr. Imad Abdul-Hussain Abdul-Sahib, and in line with the directives of Professor Dr. Amjad Al-Sawad, Director General of the Space Research and Technology Center, to strengthen scientific collaboration between the center and specialized universities and colleges, a scientific delegation of faculty members and students from the Aircraft Engineering Branch – Mechanical Engineering Department / University of Technology conducted a scientific visit to the center. The visit aimed to expand research and development horizons in the fields of aviation and space.
Accompanying the students on this visit was Dr. Ali Jabbar, where the delegation explored the engineering design laboratories, the wind tunnel, and payload systems. The latest technologies used in this field were showcased, along with practical experiments on the operation of piston aircraft engines. The visit also featured fruitful scientific discussions between faculty members and researchers, focusing on developing the applied skills of engineering students and enhancing their capabilities in specialized fields.
At the conclusion of the visit, an agreement was reached to establish joint graduation projects between the two parties. These projects will provide students with the opportunity to work on advanced engineering applications in a cutting-edge research environment, contributing to the enrichment of applied scientific knowledge and fostering integration between academic research and the needs of the industrial sector.
This collaboration is part of the University of Technology’s ongoing efforts to elevate the scientific and research standards of its students and to open new horizons in the fields of aviation and space technology, keeping pace with global developments in this vital sector.
